What happens during an appointment

The first part of the session you tell me about yourself and explain the problem you want to overcome. During this part we also discuss the ways that can help you make the positive changes to your life. The second part of the session is all  trance. I don’t get you to  talk to me during the trance so you can relax and go as deep as you need. I do work in a fairly deep way. Some people zone out completely and hear nothing at a conscious level, others drift in and out as the unconscious mind does all the work to make the powerful changes to how you think, feel and behave.

What is hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy can help to treat problems by accessing your unconscious mind, which can affect your emotions and behaviours. Unlike other forms of therapy and counselling, which often take months or years to show results, hypnotherapy uses positive suggestion to promote alternative new behaviours, meaning many clients find they are able to make changes even after the first session.

Can I be hypnotized?

Yes. It is an altered state of consciousness that most people go in and out of all the time, very similar to daydreaming – for example, when we’re so engrossed in a film that you forget where you are, or when you are driving and you realise you’ve travelled a familiar route for a few miles without being conscious of driving the car.

Do you have control of my mind?

No. Hypnotherapy, helps you get control of your mind so you can make changes to your life. Helping you get thoughts and emotions in a positive way. I cannot make you do something you don’t want to do. You actually get more control of your mind.

Will you find out my inner thoughts?

No not if you don’t want to reveal them. Most of the time clients remain silent during a trance, but even if you do speak, you still have control.

Can anyone undergo hypnotherapy?

Yes, as long as you want to go into a trance, then you can. Some people go deeper than others. You may go deeper in some sessions but you still have control of your mind.

Will I need many sessions to see a change?

Most people notice differences after their first session. How many you opt for is up to you, but three is usually recommended – where you learn to change your perceptions, stop old habits, or let go of problems. The more natural it feels, the more relaxed and comfortable you feel.
